I really enjoyed this video on using technology in the classroom to keep students engaged. Students now a days are so used to new technology that they don't have to be taught how to use it. I have seen children as young as 2 years old effectively using a smartphone for what they wanted. I think we should utilize this technologically advanced ability to assist students with learning. Students should be able to portray their talents whether that be using pen and paper or a computer and website. I myself am very tech savvy and enjoy doing most of my work/projects on a computer. Technology provides students many different opportunities to capture their interests while learning at the same time. I am a big advocate for incorporating technology into teaching!

The Beginning of the End
So I couldn't find the classroom today I walked all over Aquinas before finally walking into the room and seeing a pleasant surprise of Mac computers at every desk! Eeeeeep, Mac computers are my favorite!! I was nervous for class to start because of the mixed reviews I have heard from peers, but once I read the letter from a previous student, I was relieved, not about the amount of work, but about it all being worth it in the end. This class seems to have a lot to do with creativity which I am super excited about! The ice breaker activity was fun, but I already knew most of the people in the class to begin with. I liked how Dr. S asked us personal questions as a form of pre-assessment without us even realizing it! The first project was fun because I was able to briefly tell about myself in my own creative and unique way. I decided to create a word cloud, because when you are asked to pick only words to describe/ tell about yourself you think very deeply into what words are best fit. I did all different sorts of words and then was able to change the color and font to express myself further. Here is my digital me project! Day 1 was a success! Here's to 15 more weeks!
